Do I need to opt-in to open banking or is my account already set up for it?
No, you don’t need to opt in to open banking.
Most residents of the UK, Europe and US should find themselves able to access open banking services. If you can access your bank account information online through your bank's website or mobile app, then you should be able to use apps and services such as Yaspa.
(Please note that the adoption of open banking was mandated by the EU under its Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2) in 2018 but access experiences may still vary by country. Additionally, open banking has not yet been rolled out by banks in the Channel Islands, for example. If you find your bank is not listed and you’re unable to pay with Yaspa, please let us know, and we’ll see if we can help from this end.)
