We're sorry to hear that. Yaspa initiates bank transactions, but the payment is made directly from your bank to the business you are paying. Yaspa is not part of the payment processing pipeline and we do not handle your funds.
1. Check with your bank that the payment was successful.
You should be able to see the transaction against your account.
Please note that there are several reasons why a bank might withhold a payment, including:
- Needing you to have explicitly switched on 'international payments' (this is common in some countries in the EU);
- Concerns that the payment might be fraudulent; or
- Specific issues with account limits or insufficient funds being available.
If your bank confirms the payment has gone through then:
2. Check with the business you are paying.
Businesses will appreciate it if you send proof of payment in advance, such as a screenshot. They should be able to confirm the receipt on their side or explain if the payment has failed.
On rare occasions, a payment might be processed and then later returned to you.
This can happen if the receiving bank rejects the payment, typically for KYC reasons. In these rare cases, because of the manual nature of the checks by the receiving bank, the refund can take hours to days - but you should always get the full amount returned to your original bank in the end.
